CITY agency One Voice has landed a PR contract for the Exeter Business Improvement District (BID) campaign in the lead-up to a referendum in June this year.

The proposed BID would see companies within a designated area pay an additional one to 1.5 per cent levy on their business rates each year for five years, generating around Pounds 600,000 annually to fund projects identified by local businesses. The BID zone encompasses city centre areas including Gandy Street, Fore Street, the High Street, South Street, Queen Street, Southernhay, Princesshay and Guildhall. More than 700 local businesses will have a vote on the proposal.
