SUGGESTIONS from the Conservatives that the Met Office could be privatised have been dismissed as "nonsense" by union leaders.
As the Echo reported yesterday, shadow defence secretary Liam Fox has said a Tory government would look at selling off assets, including the Exeter weather centre as part of a drive to cut Ministry of Defence (MoD) costs by 25 per cent without reducing frontline troops.
