Summary


ANODYNE statements attributed to apologists for the bankers over the bonus scandal, that some Premiership footballers get even more, ignore two points.

Firstly, that the footballers are also grossly overpaid, and secondly that some of these bonuses will be given to people employed by state-owned banks owing their continued existence to huge bailouts provided by the taxpayer. One is reminded of Barnum's famous dictum which says, in part, that you can't fool all the people all of the time.
