MORE South West surveyors expect to see rent rises in the New Year as the number of rental properties coming onto the market fell for the first time since January 2008.

The latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Lettings Survey suggested the recent pick up in the housing market has led to a drop off in the number of rental properties, particularly houses, available. Nationally 22 per cent more surveyors expect rents to rise rather than fall in the next three months.
