Store Uses Food for Electricity

Summary


A RECYCLING system to convert food waste into green electricity is due to go live at a Devon Waitrose store.

It is being organised by the Sidmouth supermarket on Sunday, November 6. Waitrose will have food not fit for sale taken to a recycling centre on a pig farm in Devon. It will be turned into electricity to power the farm, with any excess sold to the national grid.
