Summary
I HAVE followed political matters since Clement Attlee surprisingly beat our great war leader Winston Churchill.
My conclusion is that in this country we do not elect governments, but rather vote out those with whom we have become disillusioned. People's disillusion and voting patterns are very much affected by how the media presents information. We have received some two dozen high quality leaflets and letters from the Conservative Party. It may not be Ashcroft's money direct, but plenty of cash and support is being fed into our 'target' seat. Following the scandals of last year and the general tinge of sleaze surrounding politics I find it very disturbing that the outcome of an election can be affected by money rather than by consideration of policies and the quality of those standing for election. I do not want to see my constituency bought by money.See the full content of this document
