PLANS to create Exeter's first academy school will not be hindered by concerns over how to pay back the PFI bill for the building, governors have said.

In a public statement issued after a decision was taken to give the go-ahead for the 1,300-pupil West Exe Technology College to apply for academy status, school bosses have played down fears that its multi-million pound public funding debt could ruin the move.
