THE Bishop, the Dean and the university's Theology Faculty between them host a series of talks called the Prideaux Lectures.
They were established many years ago under the will of a son of Devon who was for a time Canon of the Cathedral and then Bishop elsewhere. He left money to enable clergy of the diocese to receive periodic stimulation to their continued theological study. I can't of course speak for all my colleagues, but I suspect quite a number of us (me included!) find it all too easy to let our time for theological reading and study disappear. There are always other matters pressing in on us, and it can seem a bit of a cop-out to shut oneself away for a couple of hours to read, think and study.See the full content of this document
