WHEN will the "powers that be" realise that a public library is not a luxury? Having used and worked in public libraries my whole life, I cannot understand why, when public funding cuts need to be made, libraries are always the scapegoat.
I understand that Exeter Central Library is looking at massive cuts; cancellation of overtime when almost all staff are part-time means that the service will be dangerously understaffed and demoralised; small branch closures and reductions to mobile library visits mean that the most isolated communities will be cut off from access to information.See the full content of this document
