Summary


INITIAL sales of about Pounds 3.5m were achieved at Westcountry Property Auctions' first event in this year's series The auctioneer Andrew Jarrold said he and the team were "very pleased with the outcome despite the very challenging market conditions."

Day one of the auction, held last month, was at the Penventon Hotel in Cornwall where 15 lots from an initial catalogue of 21 were offered, five having been sold prior and one withdrawn. Day two in Plymouth comprised 40 lots with six sold prior and four withdrawn. Lot 21 was a threebedroom terrace house requiring a comprehensive programme of refurbishment in Normandy Road, Exeter. This lot sold for Pounds 145,000 from its auction guide price of Pounds 95,000+. Lot 52 was a ground-floor studio flat in Pinhoe Road, Exeter, sold for Pounds 53,000 from its auction guide price of Pounds 50,000+.
