WORRIED residents in a block of council flats at Whipton have been given assurances that a long-overdue new heating system will be installed before the winter. Elderly people in Rennes House in Vaughan Road said they have been waiting a number of years for an upgraded heating and water system.
There are more than 60 flats on 10 floors built by the city council 47 years ago. Residents said the new scheme is long overdue and are hoping their electricity bills will reduce once modern and more efficient storage heaters are installed. Some residents said they are concerned that, despite promises from the council, the scheme may not be started in time for the onset of the cold winter weather this year.See the full content of this document
