Drunken Matthew Bennett, who smashed a glass into the face of a stranger causing cuts that needed more than 30 stitches and leaving him permanently scarred, has been ordered to pay his victim pounds2,000 compensation.

Bennett, 20, admitted unlawfully wounding Mark Langham. In addition to the compensation, Bennett was given a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 300 hours unpaid work in the community.
