FRIENDS and colleagues have been rallying round an Exmouth father- of-two as he battles a rare form of cancer.

Matt Smith was diagnosed with thymic carcinoma last month, a cancer that affects only 1,000 people around the world. The 35-year- old is undergoing a gruelling 18-week course of chemotherapy.
