ONE of the region's most recognisable family-owned firms has continued along the route to expansion since enjoying success in the Express & Echo Business Awards.

Haulage firm Gregory Distribution Limited (GDL) is now a third generation family-owned and managed business, employing more than 1,000 people. The company was started in 1919 by Archibald Gregory and his son Jack took over at the end of the Second World War.
