A DRUNK who refused to come down from a pub roof and threw tiles at emergency services personnel has appeared in court.
Michael Phillips, 38, told police officers he would only come down from the roof of the St Loyes pub, in Salters Road, off East Wonford Hill, by jumping and killing himself. Phillips, of Topsham Road, Exeter, was due to stand trial yesterday at Exeter Magistrates' Court but pleaded guilty to attempting to steal lead from the pub's roof and a public order offence on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19.See the full content of this document
