IT MAY be cold out there this winter but just over 30 years ago Devon households were more worried about the taps running dry.
The winter of 1978 was the driest for 200 years and, by the end of November, the Kennick, Tottiford and Trenchford reservoirs were only 30 per cent full. Dire warnings were sounded by South West Water that unless the rains came, parts of Devon had only another 35 days of water.See the full content of this document
