OF THE many beautiful shoes stored in the costume collection of the museum, these delicate shoes or slippers are of particular interest.
Donated in 1868 by a Miss E Bignall, they are one of the earliest items of costume to be given to the museum. Made of white kid covered in cream silk satin, with the toe covered in a cream and gold brocade and DELICATE: Silk shoes thought to have belonged to Princess Charlotte decorated with a gold rosette, the flat slipper style is very typical of their time.See the full content of this document
