RESIDENTS throughout East Devon are being urged to comply with the district council's waste collection policy to ensure their refuse is collected. The policy, that no extra bags or boxes of rubbish placed beside or on top of the wheelie bin, known as side waste, will be strictly enforced from October 3. The waste collection contractors for East Devon District Council have been taking a "lenient line" on the issue of side waste as people across the region adapted to a change in the system which involves different containers for waste.
However council officials have said that now the system is well under way, people must comply with the policy which is designed to encourage people to contain all their landfill waste in their council issued wheelie bin.See the full content of this document
