Summary
FORDGATE Cottage is a delightful detached period cottage situated in the heart of Dartmoor National Park close to the popular village of Manaton.
The cottage is believed to have been a toll house dating from the mid-18th century and nestles beside a small area of woodland, providing shelter, next to Hayne Brook before you reach open moorland. The original cottage is of stone and slate construction and was extended in the 1950s. Recent improvements include the installation of a quality fitted kitchen and bathroom, the addition of oil-fired central heating and the majority of external doors and windows being replaced with uPVC units. Other features include beams in the two reception rooms, original main cross beam along with a large open fireplace and wood burning stove.See the full content of this document
