This vessel, known as a chomo vacu, was used to contain chicha, a beer made from manioc or maize. It is made by the Shipibo-Conibo women in the forests of Peru.

This coil-built clay vessel was made using a number of raw resources that reflect the travelling capabilities of the Conibo, who would journey long distances to obtain the clay, resins and firewood needed to make them. The geometric design, relates to symbols known only by shamans.
