IT was heartening to see so many Exeter health professionals put their name to a statement in the Echo last week, condemning the Government's NHS upheaval.
What was particularly striking was the number of GPs among the 40 signatories. It is GPs, the Government claims, who are supposed to benefit from the changes, as more power and most of the NHS budget are placed in their hands. But clearly many GPs themselves are against the proposals, warning in the Exeter statement: "Unless flaws in this Bill are tackled, the NHS as we have known it since 1948 will be lost forever."See the full content of this document
