The top pair, sharing a Pounds 100 prize, were Paul Roach and Paul Homewood, who had a four-point total.
Roach recorded the day's top catch of 2k 550g from peg 11, near the wires. He failed to catch at the start using a seven-metre pole and bread punch, so switched to 11 metres.He fed liquidised bread feed and fished punch on an 18 hook, which brought him three big skimmers after an hour. He added a single roach and another good skimmer towards the end of the five- hour event.Homewood drew end peg 22, towards Warnicombe, where he recorded a 1k 270g total.
