EXETER City sporting director Julian Tagg reluctantly admitted that referee David Coote was right to call off last night's game against Swindon Town.

The npower League One encounter seemed all set to go ahead despite heavy downpours o v e r S t J a m e s ' s P a r k throughout the day, and Tagg said even the Nottinghamshire official appeared confident the game would be on when he arrived in Exeter yesterday afternoon. But after meeting with both managers and making a closer inspection of the Grecians' playing surface, Coote decided to postpone the match at around 6pm.
