Police in Exeter have warned drivers who drink and drive that they will be caught and punished. The initiative is being carried out across the force area in a bid to stop drink-driving in the region.

The Cathedral Green was transformed into a sea of colour at the weekend, as thousands gathered to celebrate the 1,100th anniversary of the Diocese of Exeter. Exeter Business Survey Raises Hopes

The latest quarterly survey by the city's chamber of commerce found evidence of rising sales, increasing confidence and a slowing in the rate of job cuts. Some 42 per cent of firms polled in June said their sales had risen over the past three months, up from just 28 per cent in March. Sales were down for less than a third, compared to 45 per cent who reported a fall three months ago.
